My Story

CHAPTER 1 — IT STARTED BEFORE I COULD WALK

Motorbikes have been part of my life for as long as I can remember.

My dad, Mike, was the one who started it all. He bought me a pedal bike before I could even walk, and by the time I was four years old, he had put me on a 50cc.

Looking back, it was probably obvious where my life was heading.

Even then, I remember sitting with my brother watching videos of the Dakar Rally. I didn't understand what it really meant to take on something like Dakar, but I remember being fascinated by it.

That dream was planted early.

And it never really went away.

CHAPTER 2 — GROWING UP IN THE DIRT

My dad founded Track n Trail (enduro events company), and motorcycles quickly became much more than a hobby for our family.

He went on to run one of the biggest youth enduro series in the country, and I was lucky enough to grow up right in the middle of it, racing the events myself while watching hundreds of other riders come through the sport.

I was always involved with Track n Trail.

Even when I was younger, I would turn up and help wherever I could. Although, if I'm honest, I was probably more hindrance than help at first!

As I got older, I took on more and more responsibility.

Eventually, I went from being the kid helping Dad at events to organising races of my own.

Today I run several events of my own, including the Jurassic Rally, two rounds of the British Rally Championship. As well as helping organise all our other events.

Motorcycles had gone from something I loved to ride to something that had shaped my entire life.

CHAPTER 3 — RACING

Alongside organising events, I've always wanted to see how far I could push myself on a bike.

I've raced everything from enduro to long-distance rally, always looking for the next challenge.

One of the biggest milestones in my racing has been Dawn till Dusk.

I've won it four years in a row, twice in the 12-hour race and twice in the 24-hour race.

My first 12-hour victory was particularly special. I entered as a solo rider and managed to beat all of the teams outright.

I've since gone on to win the 24-hour race twice as a solo rider, spending long days and nights on the bike and learning exactly what it takes to keep pushing when you're exhausted.

I've also had strong results in rally and enduro racing. I finished third overall and second in class in my first year of the British Bike Rally Championship, and I've won the Valleys Lite Race twice, taking overall victory in both 2025 and 2026.

Taking part in the 2023 Red Bull Romaniacs in the silver class was my first international race. Although I didn’t go on to finish the race, it gave me a whole new perspective of the word suffering.

For a while, my goal was to make it as an extreme rider. I wanted to find my limits and see just how far I could push myself.

But all those races were giving me something more than results.

They were teaching me how to keep going.

How to manage fatigue.
How to deal with difficult conditions.
How to make decisions when things aren't going to plan.

Skills that I now know I will need for Dakar.

CHAPTER 4 — A CHANGE OF DIRECTION

In 2023, while racing in Romania, I caught up with an old friend, and a Dakar legend in his own right, Neil Hawker.

Neil told me I should apply for a job at Off Road Skills as an Instructor.

I'd never ridden an adventure bike before, so I wasn't exactly sure what I was letting myself in for.

But I went along for the interview.

And the rest is history.

Starting at Off Road Skills changed everything.

Suddenly I was surrounded by people who had actually lived the Dakar experience. Riders who had raced it, finished it and understood what it really takes to get to the start line.

Being around those people re-kindled something I'd almost convinced myself wasn't realistic.

The Dakar dream started to seem more achievable.

CHAPTER 5 — MAYBE IT ISN'T IMPOSSIBLE

For years, Dakar had always been the dream.

But it was just that, a dream.

Something I watched on a screen. Something other people did.

The scale of the challenge, the cost and everything involved made it feel completely impossible.

Then, in 2026, I found myself sitting at home watching the Searls brothers and Neil Hawker take on and finish the Dakar Rally.

I could barely sit still watching it.

I was completely hooked.

And when they came home and started telling their stories, the heroics, the disasters, the moments when everything went wrong and they somehow kept going, that was it.

I knew I couldn't just keep watching from home.

I needed to be there.

That was the moment the dream became a goal.

CHAPTER 6 — CHASING DAKAR

Today, I'm taking everything I've learned so far and turning it towards the biggest challenge I've ever set myself.

I'm proud to ride for Kove UK, alongside the support of Motorrad Konnections, Kenda Tyres and Miro Clothing.

With their support, I'm building towards the ultimate goal, earning my place on the start line of the Dakar Rally.

I know how big the challenge is.

I know how much work it will take.

And I know there are plenty of reasons why it might not happen.

But Dakar has always been the dream.

I just never thought it was possible.

Now, I'm going to find out.

From the UK trails to the Dakar desert.

I'm chasing Dakar.
